Most non-domestic flights to Iran land in and depart from Iran Khomeini Airport (IKA) , also known as Imam Khomeini International Airport or IKIA.
All travelers to Iran should read and know these rules and restrictions to pass airport security checks for departure.
AVIATION SECURITY
To protect the airport and by extension aircraft from crime and terrorism, travelers are not allowed to carry the following prohibited items and materials abroad the aircraft:
Firearms: all types of weapons and hunting rifles, toy guns, shotguns and replicas
Martial arts weapons: sword, dagger, knife, western fencing weapons, cutter, surgery knife, and other sharp objects
Armaments: bullets, grenade, explosives such as TNT and C4, dynamite, and all types of detonators
Sprays: tear gas, including eye irritants CS, CN,CR, and respiratory irritant, OC pepper spray
Flammable substances: gasoline, ethanol, acetone, and liquid gas containers
If you have any of these hazardous items and materials, please hand them into the security Checkpoint Authority, ticket counter, or the Prohibited Items Department to speed up the process of passenger screening.
Please note that if the Security Checkpoint Authority finds any hazardous items or materials in your bags, you are in violation and could not receive civil or criminal penalties.

Lawful restrictions for departure:
1. Wearing Hijab(scarf )is obligatory.
2. According to notification approvals from costumes of IRI, taking currency out
of the country for more than 5000 Dollars per passenger is forbidden.
3. Carrying the current money more than 500000 Rials by passenger is forbidden.
4. Carrying all kind of pickle, vinegar, alcohol by passenger is forbidden.
5. Carrying all kind of deodorant which have flammable label by passenger is forbidden. .
6. Taking narcotic substances and similar drugs out of country by passenger is forbidden and the carrier is under legal prosecution.
7. Carrying and taking out all kind of alcoholic beverages by passenger is forbidden and carrier is under legal prosecution.
8. Carrying dogs in the special cage with certificate and by allowance of quarantine unit are permissible.
9. Taking all kind of gold coin backing of money out of country by passenger is forbidden.
10. Taking caviar out for more than 250gr.by passenger is forbidden.
11. Carriage handmade carpet in measure of move than 24Sq meter per passenger is forbidden.
12. Taking out flammable matters, gas capsules by passenger is forbidden.
13. Taking out all kind of weapons and armament which is not permitted is forbidden.

Contents of hand luggage:
Airport security will not allow any sharp objects, or anything that may be used as a weapon to be carried onboard a flight.
Dangerous items:
No dangerous goods or restricted articles may be carried in your luggage. This includes, but is not limited to alcoholic drinks, narcotics, hazardous chemicals, explosives/pyrotechnics, compressed gas containers, toxic , flammable , corrosive, or radioactive substances, munitions and firearms and other goods listed in the IATA dangerous goods regulationsare strictly forbidden. Also carriage of liquids, foodstuff, perishable material and all other similar materials is forbidden.
Valuables:
Avoid packing cash, important documents, and other valuable items in your checked in luggage.
Identification:
Clearly label all items of luggage with your name and contact details, on an appropriately visible location.
Pets:
For safety reasons, animals may not be carried in the passenger cabin of Iran Air flights. Please contact Iran Air staff to make arrangements.
Electronics:
For safety reasons, use of any electronic device that emits EM radiation that may interfere with aircraft equipment is not permitted on board Iran Air flights. These include but not limited to wireless communication equipment, radio control toys and devices, computer equipment.
